TELESTEPS® Generates Strong Interest at NECA 2026 in Las Vegas

Visitors experienced the stability and compact portability of the 125EKS telescoping A-frame ladder, featuring non-conductive DuPont™ Kevlar® reinforced composite rails.

October 2026  |  Mandalay Bay Convention Center  |  Las Vegas, Nevada

TELESTEPS® brought its 125EKS DuPont™ Kevlar® reinforced composite telescoping A-frame ladder to NECA 2026 in Las Vegas, giving electrical professionals an opportunity to experience a different approach to professional access equipment.

Featuring non-conductive composite rails, professional-duty capacity and a design that retracts to approximately 31 inches, the 125EKS prompted conversations about transportation, storage and practical applications across electrical contracting, data centers and inspection work.

The interest extended beyond product questions. Visitors stepped onto the ladder, lifted the retracted version and considered how its compact design could fit into their daily work. Many indicated that they intended to make purchases, and the event generated excellent leads for TELESTEPS®.

A Visit from NECA CEO David Long

One of the highlights was a visit from NECA CEO David Long, who stopped by the TELESTEPS® booth, congratulated Gary Percy on the unique product and commented on the buzz it was generating at the show.

Gary showed him the fully extended 125EKS telescoping A-frame ladder and explained how it retracts to approximately 31 inches for transportation and storage. The visit also included photos together at the booth.

Full-Size Reach. Compact Storage.

Seeing the 125EKS fully extended beside its retracted version drew repeated attention. Visitors were surprised by how much working height could fit into such a compact package—and how manageable the retracted ladder felt when they lifted it.

Several visitors compared the carrying experience favorably with ladders they currently use. The ability to retract the 125EKS to approximately 31 inches prompted conversations about storing and transporting a professional ladder inside a vehicle.

Visitors Tried the 125EKS for Themselves

Many attendees stepped onto the 125EKS telescoping A-frame and commented on how stable it felt. Trying the ladder gave visitors a more direct understanding of the product than viewing specifications alone.

What Visitors Appreciated
  • Non-conductive DuPont™ Kevlar® reinforced composite rails for professional applications where electrical exposure is a consideration.
  • The stability they experienced when stepping onto the 125EKS.
  • Compact storage at approximately 31 inches, with substantial working height when extended.
  • Manageable transportation, experienced firsthand by lifting the retracted ladder.
  • Inside-vehicle storage as an alternative to transporting a full-size ladder on a roof rack.

Conversations About Real-World Applications

Roof-rack transportation was a recurring topic. Visitors described how their fiberglass ladders wore out quickly when exposed to sun and weather on roof racks, as well as the difficulty of lifting them onto and off their vehicles. They saw the compact TELESTEPS® design as a way to address those concerns by transporting and storing the ladder inside the vehicle.

Data-center access also drew interest. One visitor who works in a data center stepped onto the 125EKS and said it would be great for use in that environment, where moving and storing access equipment can be an important consideration.

A risk coordinator identified another potential application: insurance inspections. She said the ladder would be excellent for inspectors because they could place the retracted ladder in the back seat of their vehicle.

The 125EKS on Display—and an Extension Option Discussed

The 125EKS was the ladder physically exhibited at the show. It provides 8.5 feet of actual ladder height and up to 12 feet of reach, retracts to approximately 31 inches and weighs approximately 34 lbs. It carries a Type IAA 375-lb duty rating.

TELESTEPS® also discussed its 1600EKP telescoping extension ladder with visitors using a pull-up display sign. The 1600EKP was not physically displayed at the booth.

For professionals seeking an extension configuration, the 1600EKP features non-conductive DuPont™ Kevlar® reinforced composite rails, provides 12.5 feet of ladder height and up to 16 feet of reach, and retracts to approximately 34 inches. It carries a Type IA 300-lb duty rating and weighs approximately 30 lbs.
